It is the ultimate responsibility of a gas engineer to ‘protect life and property’ from the dangers of gas. This means correctly identifying gas related dangers within dwellings, and crucially, following the correct process in dealing with unsafe situations identified.

To ensure gas installations are safe, gas engineers must establish if the installation complies with the Gas Safety (Installation & Use) Regulations (GSIUR).
